I got woken up yesterday morning by another volunteer telling me I had a sick girl and I needed to go to the dorms and deal with it. Joy. I was hoping it would be a matter of letting her sleep in the morning and maybe taking some ibuprofen.
Failure. Ended up spending ten hours in the local hospital with my girl who was finally diagnosed with Typhoid Fever and sent home.
Now I am paranoid that the headache I have this morning is from one of the millions of contagious tropical diseases I was exposed to while at the hospital all day.
I have so much more to write, it was truly an ordeal and I am so very thankful for American health care, as broken as some say it is, it is infinitely better than the majority of the rest of the world. I need to get moving but will write more about it later. Pray I stay healthy.
Love to all. Seriously, thank God for your medical care in America/Europe. It's truly amazing. Krissy
